That's a tough one.

Via Zoom is convenient, and does not require a trip to Austin. Theoretically, it is less stressful because you don't have to see the Board panel reviewing your case in person.  It's impersonal that way.  And, from a defense of your case position, that's the problem.

In person, they get to see you in your three-dimensional human existence self, and to experience your personality and your voice and your demeanor in person.  This can go a long way toward getting the result you are looking for, which is the best result possible given the facts of your particular Board case, and the allegations to overcome.
